A lot to share this month: a recap of mahjong camp, some fun press, live play with the founders in the app, and in-person events we couldn’t wait for.
A weekend of mahjong at camp
Over Labor Day weekend, Gaby attended the inaugural Mahj & More at Camp Solomon Schechter. Pickleball, ropes course, mod podge, all the classic camp things. But the real story was the mahjong: three days of it, tables full at every skill level, and players from all over the Pacific Northwest. Gaby shared Bam Dot Crack with the whole group and played more than 24 games in 24 hours.
Live play with a co-founder
We each hopped into the app at set times so anyone could try to land at our table. Open the app, tap Live Table, choose Ranked Play, then Start Searching. Watch @bamdotcrack on Instagram for the next round.
A couple of new press hits
From the Northwest to the Midwest, local press covered BDC and our founder stories. Bellevue Club magazine included us alongside a piece on the rich and diverse history of mahjong, and the Detroit Jewish News wrote about the app and how mahjong keeps showing up across generations.
Come play with us in person
Marissa joined Eastside Mahjong’s open play at Salud Cerveceria in Charlotte on September 22, and Gaby and Lauren got ready for the October 5 debut of Mahjong Mondays at The Collective in Seattle, hosted with BAM Collective.
